Purpose of the Event

- The EIT Strategic Innovation Agenda: this is due for adoption by the Commission on 30 November 2011, and will set out its vision for investing in innovation beyond 2014.

- KICs as new tools for stimulating innovation in Europe: KICs are a key development in the European innovation landscape. They provide a very practical example of how a broad partnership of actors can develop a common framework of research, innovation and entrepreneurship activities at European level. The event will demonstrate how Climate-KIC has responded to the agenda set by the EIT and developed this common framework of activities.

- New models of innovation at a regional level related to climate change and sustainability issues: the event will provide an overview of the distinctive innovation agenda being developed by the regional partners within Climate-KIC. A policy paper outlining this framework will be launched at the event, and a number of case studies of existing and proposed activities will be showcased by the regional partners.
