A debate between the Regions and European institutions on the changes to be made to the CAP after 2013 to improve its contribution to territorial equilibrium: to take up the European challenge of food and also to develop higher quality and local farming, to reform the first pillar of the CAP to guide it towards these objectives. Some Regions are already pursuing support measures to this effect, by developing the two pillars. In the presence of Michel Barnier and Mariann Fischer-Boel, the seminar has presented proposals towards a more clearly defined role for the Regions in the implementation of the CAP.
Some 200 participants, from Regions across all of Europe, attended this event organised by the CRPM in collaboration with the French Region of Pays de la Loire and in partnership with the Committee of the Regions.
